Shirley Nettles

Mrs. Shirley Jane Nettles , age 78 of St. Marys, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs, Fl.
Mrs. Nettles was born February 6, 1936 in Sanderson, Fl. to the late Hillery and Elize Duggar.
Mrs. Nettles worked at the Northeast Florida State Hospital when she was a resident of Baker County, Fl. She later married Arlington “Blue” Nettles in 1976 and moved to Camden County where they were longtime residents. They shared life and love together until his passing in 2009. Mrs. Nettles retired from the Camden County School System after many years of service. She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in St. Marys, Ga. She always enjoyed visits from her family and grandchildren and loved to shop in her spare time. Mrs. Nettles will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Nettles is survived by her daughters, Sherry Jane Owens of Yulee, Fl., and Brenda Sue Burnsed of Taylor, Fl.; her sons, Ernie Nettles of Lakeland, Ga., George William (Debra) Nettles of Kingsland, Ga., Leamon (Olivia) Crawford of Taylor, Fl., and Clarence Joseph (Debbie) Crawford of MacClenny, Fl.; her grandchildren, Arlington, Jonathan, Joe, Jimmy, Tabitha, Tina, Tiffany, Lisa, Joseph, Simon, Terry, Daniel, Shannon, Shauna, Trannon, Gola, and Kelly, plus numerous great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Nettles was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arlington “Blue” Nettles and her sons, John Nettles, Terry Lane Crawford, and Davy Crawford.
Calling hours for Mrs. Nettles will be from 1 PM to 3 PM on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Victory Baptist Church in St. Marys, GA. A service will immediately follow at the church. Interment will be held after the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ga. Pallbearers will be Joe Leatherman, Joe Crawford, Shannon Burnsed, Joe Nettles, Jonathan Nettles, Arlington Nettles, Terry Lane Crawford, and Simon Crawford. Trannon Burnsed will be an Honorary Pallbearer.
