Shirley Reed

Mrs. Shirley Benson Reed age 85 of Hampton, GA passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Westbury Health and Rehab in McDonough, GA.

Mrs. Reed was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 19, 1928 to the late Edward Benson and the late Louise Dahlke. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reginald James Reed. Mrs. Reed enjoyed crafts and making floral arrangements. She also loved to read, shop, and cook. She attended Hampton United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Vernon “Les” and Glenna Reed of Hampton, Forrest E. and Sandy Reed of Lawrenceville; grandchildren, Lesley Goodwin (Sean), Jason Reed, Matthew Reed, Justin Reed (Kelly), Brandon Reed; great-grandchildren, Seth Goodwin, J.T. Goodwin, Scarlett Reed, Lillie Mae Reed; several cousins.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Reed will be conducted Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hampton United Methodist Church. Reverend Allen Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in Concord Cemetery on Concord Rd. in Walker County, GA. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 10:00 am until the service hour at the church.
