Stephen H. McMillan, 68, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Steve was born on August 23, 1946 in Carrollton, Georgia to the late John T. McMillan, Sr. and Mildred Eley McMillan. He was a graduate of Griffin High School where he ran track and was a quarterback for the Griffin Eagles, then he served in the United States Army. Steve retired from Bellsouth after 42 years of service. During his years with the phone company, Steve actively volunteered with the Telephone Pioneers. He enjoyed motorcycles, car racing, reading, dancing and everything science fiction.
He is survived by his wife, Risa Horn McMillan, stepdaughters, Ginger (Jeff) Lusk and Marie McKneely, daughters, Beverly Jones, Susan Kane, and Stacey (Vance) Wilson, grandsons, Wesley (Destiny) Wilson, Jared Jones, Jackson and Jacob Lusk, and a great granddaughter, Brandi Wilson, mother-in-law, Eula Horn, sister-in-law, Karen (George) Pirkle, brothers, J.T. (Tyndall) (Janet) McMillan, Jr., Wendell (Donna) McMillan, sister, Barbara (Tommy) Watts, nephews and a niece and their families.
Memorial services for Mr. Stephen McMillan will be conducted on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and Help, Hope, Live for Mary Pioli.
