Mrs. Susan Marie Wallace, age 64, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020 at her home in Kingsland, Ga. surrounded by her husband and daughters.
Susan, better known as Nana & Little Nana, was born on March 28th, 1956 in Fernandina Beach, Fl. to the late Grady and Annie Myrl Metts. Susan was a longtime resident of Camden County and grew up living on rivers and bluffs. She loved camping and fishing, but most of all loved spending the holidays with her family. She had a love for birds, hummingbirds in particular, so much so that her family calls her the hummingbird whisperer. She had a caring and genuine heart; she would do without so she could do for other people. She was very protective over her family especially her grand boys, the 3 little birds, as she would call them.
Mrs. Wallace is survived by her husband, John Wallace of Kingsland, Ga.; her daughters, Dana Wallace (Court) of Middleburg, Fl. and Kim Wallace (Ray) of Kingsland, Ga.; her sisters, Peggy (Larry) Allen of Hartwell, Ga., Shirley (Lanny) Brown of Stockbridge, Ga., and Patsy Dassinger of Oberlin, La.; her grandchildren, Jonathan Woods, Kadin Southwell, Mikayla Wyrick, and Landon Lazinsky; her great-grandson, Brantley Woods; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her best friend, Cindy Mosley.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Wallace was also preceded in passing by her sisters, Sandra Roland and Pennie Metts.
A Celebration of Mrs. Wallace’s life will be held at 3 pm Saturday, September 12th, 2020 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. with Pastor Darrell Joiner presiding.
In lieu of fresh flowers, Susan requested plants only be given in her memory. She also requested that no suits or black be worn to her service.
