Vannie Holt

Vannie Weathers Holt, age 102, of Meansville, GA passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Holt was born on April 27, 1911 in Pike County, GA. She was preceded in death by husband, John Frank Holt; parents, Tooley and Gertrude Weathers; two brothers, Robert and Willie James Weathers; two sisters, Lucy M. White and Fannie B. Miller; She joined Philadelphia Methodist Church at an early age. She was a domestic worker until her health failed.

Mrs. Holt leaves to cherish in loving memory, one daughter, Nettie M. Walker of Meansville, GA; three grandchildren, Charlie (Carol) Holt of Atlanta, GA, Maurice (Dianne) Holt of Barnesville, GA, and Marcus (Mary) Holt of Concord, GA. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and devoted friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Vannie Holt will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11am at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Meansville. Interment will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens. Visitation for Mrs. Holt will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from noon until 5pm at the funeral home. She will also lie in state at the church from 10am until the service hour on Thursday.
