Mr. Walter Clarence Turner Jr., age 89 of Griffin, GA passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Brightmoor Hospice.
  
  Mr. Turner was born in Senoia, Georgia on January 30, 1923 to the late Walter Clarence Turner, Sr. and the late Mae Akin Turner. He worked for over 30 years in the auto parts industry before retiring from Mid Georgia Auto Parts. Mr. Turner was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a member of the Church of God.
  
  Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Emma Lou Hardy Turner; sons and daughter-in-law, Wiley C. Turner, Robert C. Turner and his wife Joyce Bethune Turner; daughter and son-in-law, Emily James-Lesser and Reverend Art Lesser III; grandchildren, Robert C. Turner, Jr., Christopher Lee Turner and Michael Todd James; great-grandchildren; Bobby, Ryan, Kyle, Kandace, Dustin and Devin.
  
  Funeral services for Mr. Walter Turner, Jr. will be conducted on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Carver Road Baptist Church. Reverend Tom Summers will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from noon until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the church.
