William Sr

Mr. William Edward West, Sr. , 62, of Woodbine passed away early Sunday morning February 8, 2009.
Mr. West was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on August 28, 1946. He is the son of the late William Ferol and Eileen Bishop West. He was a longtime resident of Camden County residing in Woodbine. He was retired from the United States Navy after 20 years with an honorable discharge acheiving several awards of excellence. Mr. West enjoyed collecting and restoring antique Chevrolets and attending Super Chevy car show events.
Mr. West is survived by his children, Marie (Norman) Gartner of Philadelphia, Pa., Michele West of Brunswick, William “Bill” (Victoria) West, Jr. of Thalman, and Kenneth “Kenny” (Stacey) West of Gulfport, Ms.; his sister, Cindy West of Macon; his grandchildren, Eric Gartner, Lacey West, Cherilyn Love, Gregory Gartner, Lilla Dykes, Jesse West, Taylor West, Quinton Hutchinson, Zach West, and Shaylee West. He is also survived by his ex-wife and mother of his beloved children, Maria Nieves. Along with his parents, Mr. West was also preceded in death by his sister, Jeanie Higdon.
Services for Mr. West will be held privately. His family is abiding by his wishes of an honorable ceremony at sea to be provided by the United States Navy.
