Mrs. Willie Lorraine Bruce , age 94 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away on the earlymorning of Wednesday, December 12 th , 2018 at her son’s home inHarriett’s Bluff.



Mrs.Bruce was born in Trenton, Fl. on May 28 th , 1924. She is thedaughter of the late James Albion & Eliza Jane Sheffield Grau.



Her family said of her, “Willie Lorraine Bruce, better known to everyone as Billie, Mom, Granny and Gigi loved her family and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always participated in numerous family outings and activities.  She loved her church and the Lord. She raised all her children to love the Lord and to serve others. She was very active in many capacities such as being a member of Sunday School, the women’s groups, the choir, and volunteering her time in the church offices. Billie was an excellent cook and often made great foods for family and friends. Some of the favorites included her corn bread dressing, pork and rice, her soups, cobblers and fruit cakes. She would always cook and have many of us over to eat and enjoy one another.She also liked to sew and made clothes for the grandchildren. She did cross stitch and crochet pieces for many people.Many family members and others have blankets and other crocheted pieces from her. Billie always owned little dogs and they were often ones that were rescued. She spent much time taking care of her dogs and Cookie, her last dog, was a great companion for her and loved so dearly by her and all family members.



Mrs. Bruce is survived by her children,
Charles & Pat Bruce of Kingsland, Ga., Jimmy & Mary Bruce of Yulee,
Fl., Janis & Melvin Whitley of Butler, Ga., Richard F. Bruce of St. Marys,
Ga., Norman & Darlene Bruce of Kingsland, Ga. and Mark & Angie Bruce of
Harriett’s Bluff in Woodbine, Ga.; her grandchildren, Vanda (Jimmy), Paul
(Amy), Tammy (Keith), Regina (Stephen) Sheryl, Michael, Susan (Joe), Ryan
(Christina), Katherine (Tyler), Valerie (Nick) and Ian; her 17
great-grandchildren, plus several nieces, nephews and cousins.



A visitation for Mrs. Bruce will be heldfrom 10 to 10:50 am on Saturday, December 15 th , 2018 in the mainsanctuary of the Kingsland First United Methodist Church. Funeral services willthen follow beginning at 11 am with Pastor Jimmy Asbell & Pastor BruceVaughn presiding.  Graveside committal prayer and interment will followat 1:30 pm in Bruce lot in Homeward Cemetery along Georgia Highway 110 East inWaverly, Ga. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Asbell, Joshua Asbell, JacksonBruce, Stephen Twombly, Duncan Twombly, and London Twombly.
