Mr. Willie Daniel
March 9, 1927 – January 24, 2016

Mr. Willie Daniel, age 88, of Griffin, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Hope House in Griffin.

Mr. Daniel was born on March 9, 1927 in Griffin, GA, to the late Mr. Albert Daniel Sr. and the late Mrs. Nellie Daniel. Mr. Daniel was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mrs. Mary Daniel, March 1955 until her death. Mr. Daniel was also preceded in death by eight brothers: Albert Daniel Jr., Homer Daniel, Johnson Daniel, Walter Daniel, Oscar Daniel, Norman Daniel, Charlie Daniel, and Roy Daniel; one sister: Mary Francis Anderson; and stepdaughter: Pearlie Mae Hines

Mr. Daniel was employed by the Shepard Family for over 60 Years. His hobbies included collecting guns and knives; sitting on the front porch at the home house shooting squirrels was one of his favorite hobbies. Uncle Bill was always full of jokes and laughter; one of his favorite sayings was “Y’all Daniel kids sure is fat”.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one stepson, Leroy Cheves Jr.; one stepdaughter, Claudette (Willie) Flynt; devoted niece, LaQuita Wimbush; devoted nephews, Tony Anderson and James Holland all of Griffin, GA; a host of nieces, nephews and step grandchildren; special family Mr. and Mrs. John Shepard; and close family friend Laverne Brown.

A funeral service for Mr. Willie Daniel will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Eighth Street Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, January 28, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
