Mr. Willie ‘Mackie’ Woods, III age 51 of Bishop Circle in St. Marys, Ga. passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday, October 1st, 2015.
Mr. Woods was born in Albany, Ga. on April 26th, 1964. He is the son of the late Loretta Turner & James Albert’ Butch” Hill Jr., and the late Willie M. Woods, Jr.
His family said of him, “Mackie was a very loving father, brother, uncle, nephew, friend and teacher… He was a very proud man. He was proud of his family and constantly talked about his son, daughter-n-law, and grand-puppy. As a teacher with the Camden County School Board, he has played a huge role in shaping the lives of many children in the county. He is truly an amazing person and someone we will miss greatly.” He has also been a valued member of the Coastal Camden Funeral Home family since 2009. The comfort of his warm laugh, easy smile and giving ways will be a part of the legacy he leaves to all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Woods is survived by his son, Stephen A. Woods & his wife, Erica of St. Marys, Ga.; his grand-puppy, Manti; his sister, Kimberly J. McKendree & her husband, Byron of St. Marys, Ga.; and his aunt, nieces and cousins.
Calling hours for the Woods family will be from 6 to 8 PM on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. Funeral services will begin at 2 PM on Sunday, October 4th, 2015 at St. Marys First Baptist Church in St. Marys, Ga. with Pastor Stephen Kegley presiding. Burial and committal prayer will follow the service in Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ga. Pallbearers will be Darlene Aldridge, Louis Anderson, Taylor Smith, Cindy Kennedy and Steven Smith.
