Mr. Woodrow W. Bruce, Sr. , 95 of Kingsland passed away at his home, Friday, March 5th, 2010.
Mr. Bruce was born in Winter Haven, Florida on January 9th, 1915 and is the son of the late Charles Lang and Hattie Elizabeth Liles Bruce. Mr. Bruce was married to his beloved wife, the late Edith Lucille Peeples Bruce, until her passing on April 25th, 1990. They shared 51 years together. He was an amazing example of what a man, father, grandfather should be. He taught everyone he met what life was all about – love, family, friends, and fishing. He has been a member of the Kingsland First United Methodist Church since 1923.
Mr. Bruce is survived by his two daughters, Diane Rowland, and Shelda Bruce both of Kingsland; two sons, Woodrow Wilson (LeJuana) Bruce, Jr. and Lang (Vicky) Bruce both of Kingsland; a brother, John Ed Bruce of Kingsland; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Coastal Camden Funeral Home on Sunday, March 7th, 2010 from 4-6 PM.
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, March 8th, 2010 at Kingsland First United Methodist Church with Pastors Dave Hanson, Paul Dupree and Reverend Windel Ward presiding. Pallbearers will be Edward Bruce, Cameron Bruce, Cole Bruce, Brent Evans, Gary Readdick, Wayne Bruce, Charles Bruce and Wayne Pinegar. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of the Masonic Lodge 476 F&AM. Burial will follow in the Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, Georgia.
